Hi there - I have recently moved, with my husband, dog and cat, to live permanently in the Algarve. Having held various jobs whilst raising two children, I eventually settled, for 12 years, with the Cheshire County Council, Social Services Department. I initially worked as a foster parent and cared for many children, aged between 18 months and 14 years, for two years. I then began working in residential centres that housed children, aged 12 - 18 years, and I remained there for a further 10 years before coming to Portugal to live. I have several various competency and attendance certificates, including City and Guilds NVQ level 3 in The Care of Children and Young People and I also have CRB Clearance Certification. I am interested in working with English families (as yet I have not learned Portuguese!) with a view to helping to care for children. This can be as a child-minding/ "baby"-sitting service to meet individual requirements. I offer consistent availability, including at weekends, evenings and during school holidays.
