I WANT TO WORK FOR YOU!

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for employment within the Hospitality industry, whether this be bar, restaurant, customer service or hotel work. I have experience within all of the above and would love to have a fun, social job where I can meet people and interact - as that is what I do best! I am willing to work hard but am also able to have a laugh.

What nationality are you?

New Zealander

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English as a first language.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Portugal, Lagos as I have heard that this is the place to be for an amazing summer!

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have a visa to work in France.

What field do you currently work in?

Before I left New Zealand to start my travels, I worked in the Advertising industry for a number of years.

What fields have you worked in before?

Before starting my Advertising career, I did retail, hospitality and hotel work.

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold a Communications Degree and also STCW-95 (sea safety qualification)

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider skills to be most important as these come from hands on experiences which you have faced/learnt in the work force which are always going to be more relevant and up to date than what you have learnt in school/university. I personally found that the skills I have learnt at university are not valid in my day to day operations in the workforce, as technology and the way we do things in forever evolving and growing.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I love working with other people as I get really inspired and motivated by a "team" environment. I find that everyone helps each other and adds to the vibe in their own way, creating a great dynamic and generally a happy and fun workplace.

Describe the benefits of working alone

I also like to work alone as i am a perfectionist and enjoy to do things and work that i am proud of!

What was your worst working experience?

I haven't really had one to be honest with you! I am the sort of person who will always be positive about any situation that I am in and make the best of it, so i would find it hard to pinpoint a "worst" experience. I guess one which I could say is an office environment that I was in where there was alot of cliques and bitchiness among the senior woman on staff, made it really uncomfortable and intimidating for alot of the others which wasn't nice.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Be in a job that makes you happy! If you are not happy in your workplace then this is going to reflect in your work and affect the people around you. Make the best of the situation and have a good time with it, as this means that you will be the best you can be in that role.

What unique skills do you have?

I can plan and buy a television schedule which i am sure not alot of people can do! But other than this I don't think i have many unique skills apart from my personality and my enthusiasm which go along way in a team environment.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job would be a brand manager for Heineken, or an event planner!

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I would have to say building relationships with people is one of the highlights for me, and also keeping up to date with the constantly evolving world of advertising and media.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

data entry!

Why should we hire you, and what would you bring to the table?

I can honestly say that I would be a great asset to your team. I am fun, hard working, enthusiastic and honest. I will bring a newfound energy to the team and have a great time doing it, which will reflect on the establishment overall!
