Have worked in the food manufacturing industry for 15 years, prior to that worked in banking for UK and International banks What fields have you worked in before? Banking, Sales, Food manufacturing (as General Manager of a company employing 100 staff) What qualifications do you hold? Institute of Bankers (now lapsed) Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills, because they show your ability to do a job, rather than educational qualifications as they only show the level of education that you have achieved Describe the benefits of working with others Teamwork, all members of the team achieving better results due to the pooling of ideas Describe the benefits of working alone Having too be single minded enough to achieve your own personal targets. Being able to act quickly without having to gain approval for others for your actions What was your worst working experience? Working for a bank that went into liquidation What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? That I have the ability to bounce back whatever the circumstances What unique skills do you have? Single minded, but where necessary a team player. Able to analize a situation and think outside the box to ensure that a solution is found What would you consider as your 'dream job'? As I am now 56 years old, my dreamm would be to work in the sunshine in a good environment, doing a job that gave maximum job satisfaction whilst satisying the needs of others What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meeting people from all different walks of life What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
