An ESL job. I've got bucket loads of experience that Im dying to share with a helpful employer and now I'm looking to do it all in Portugal.

Portugal, I want to try to remember my Portuguese!!! Plus, I love the culture the weather, the food.

ESL - currently working in business English but would be interested in going back to early learner.

ESL, Hospitality, Carpentery, Research (applied linguistics)

BA CELTA DELTA started, unfinished
Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?
Skills, because formal education is a pathway to obtain skills- even if you follow that pathway you might not obtain skills- and if you don't follow that path you may well obtain skills anyway!

You can feed off one another, produce things together share and expand as a team.

You can focus on your own ideas without being delayed by having to explain details thoroughly to others.
What was your worst working experience?
I was chief receptionist on a ferry between England and France, the French office had decided to go on strike and they had blocked the pier. All the passengers were trapped on the ship and couldn't get off to go on holidays. The 2000 passengers were furious and I was the public face of the company- what could I even say, they were our employees blocking the pier!
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
To listen to other people, no matter what position they have in the company, as they are another cog in the machine just like you.
What unique skills do you have?
I understand communication, on an intellectual and instinctual level. I understand how people communicate and why.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
Teaching applied linguistics at a reputable university.
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
Language is the one things that separates us from the animals.
Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?
Semiotics, I prefer spoken language.
