| Well, any job!The latest I heard is that Puertoricans are massively heading for the U.S. It is calculated that about one third of the population has already moved North. It used to be all New York before, but not so now.One can find them all over the States, mainly due to the fact that the first to arrive in New York have since moved to other parts of the country and attract their relatives. Now others, immigrants, mainly Dominicans, are taking over many of the jobs left behind. But it is not all rosy, unless he/she just does housework or gardening, etc. it is still difficult for a Dominican to get a proper job in Puerto Rico. A friend recently landed a job after a wait of more than a year. Cheers! |
