| Kevin Leppmann speaks out about Verizon Business at huge Bos Last year a majority of techs at Verizon Business (a new subsidiary created after the company bought the remnants of MCI/worldcom) formed a union. But Verizon management refused to grant them the same organizing rights that past employees have used to join IBEW or CWA without management interference. Kevin Leppmann and other Verizon Business techs joined nearly two thousand Verizon telecom workers from throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island to demand a fair contract and to tear down the walls dividing workers and services at Verizon. Leppmann spoke about the need to unite for good jobs and respect. The current agreement covering about 65000 employees with Verizon East expires at midnight on August 2, 2008. |
