English (excelent) French( very well) Italian (very well) Chinese (intermediate) Romanian (native) What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Nordic countries are world wide known for the equal working and living opportunities. I like the climate as well, and , as a Romanian, it is home-only-a-few-hours-away-from-home. What countries have you worked in? Romania (3 years) and Taiwan (8 years) What countries do you have a visa to work in? EU countries and Taiwan What field do you currently work in? Teaching, Coaching What fields have you worked in before? Teching, HR, Recruiting, Training, What qualifications do you hold? BA in English ndf French MBA (University of Phoenix, Arizona) Chinese Language Studies (National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C) Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both. They have to go hand in hand.I consider the formal education the starting point, and in many cases the sine qua non condition. There have been some cases when formal education has been an impediment to the work process itself, due to the fact that many times theory does not prepare one for the real thing. However, hard work, open mind and the desire to overcome ones limitations have solved the issue. Describe the benefits of working with others Amazing. We praise ourselves as social beings endowed with reason and articulate speach. My personal opinion is that only working with others will show us how well we reason, how socially-fitted we are, and how good a wheel in the bigger clock we can be. Describe the benefits of working alone Well, there are some advantages of wearing the coat of an individual contributor, as well. One does not depend on others bringing the puzzle pieces to make the bigger picture (that is if you are a telemarketer, or working from home). One can make himself/herself more visible as an I instead of We, while bearing the whole merit (and responsibilities as well). What was your worst working experience? Miscommunication is one of the most difficult moments throughout my life and career. Wasting time due to lack of details, triggered by language barrier, company culture nd subculture (beware) has always been a painful experience. Other than this, I cnnot think of anything that cannot be overcome or fixed on the way. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Keep your mind clear, try to have a hawk eye view on the matter, when possible, don't jump to conclusions, and when it happens, be ready to take the consequences. Take risks, but calculate them upfront! What unique skills do you have? I don't judge without knowing both sides of the story, and I have enough people experience to be able to read them in a blink of an eye. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Doing what I like: working with people, for people, and through people. The sense of responsibility and feeling useful with well reached dead-ends and positive outcomes are the best work environment. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Working with people has always been considered the most challenging field. One can never make everyone happy, one can try to motivate all the teammates and still fail, but I follow the saying: Succeed or die trying! What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Human interaction covers a pretty large area, from strictly business to friendship and less pleasant kinds of interactions. I have to admit that I am the kind of person that has always stayed out of office issues. What do you think profesional success really means? It is not money, it is not office authority, it is not positive yearly balance sheet, BUT it is the number of people who will shake your hand and remember you 10-20 years later after you have retired.
