East African Community (EAC) Countries. I am a native of the area. I master the above languages spoken in the area either as official and/ or national languages. I am fully informed about socio-economic,cultural and political challenges facing this region, and then I am ready to contribute in the aleviation process of the challenges. What countries have you worked in? I have been working in Rwanda. But I did my postgraduate studies in Uganda. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I am allowed to travel freely in the country members of EAC since I hold an International Pasport.Then, finding a job in any of the above countries, I can easily get a visa to work there. What field do you currently work in? I now work in the field of Education as a Part-time Assistant Lecturer at INES- RUHENGERI (An Institution of Higher Learning) located in Northern Province Rwanda, in MUSANZE DISTRICT. What fields have you worked in before? I have a five year work experience in the domain of education both as a teacher and a Deputy Headmaster. What qualifications do you hold? A hold : - a Masters Degree of Educational Management and Administratiom - A Bachelors Degree of Arts and Languages ( French-English- Education) - A Level Cetificate in Languages Other training: A Mentaship certificate recieved from the Ministry of Education, in December 2009. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I conssider SKILLS as more valuable than formal education. One of the reasons being the fact that one can have knowledge of many theories but fail to perfom/ practice any of them. Therefore,skills are better thon formal education as they are seen and valued through practical achievements. But here, we cannot ignore that we get most of the skills we need in life through formal education. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others is for a paramount importance. While facing a problem ,for example, one can fail to choose an alternative as a solution to the problem. Then one of his group members can easily succeed in proposing the successful alternative and hence help/ facilitate the good performance of the group. Describe the benefits of working alone Eventhough the benefits of working alone are limited,we can underline some.While working alone you save time. Here,you do things as you planned them because there are no other people to propose other things to do or other ways or times to do them. What was your worst working experience? MY worrst work experience is when my boss did not aknowleadge my hard working. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Interesting aspects of my field are, among others, High rate of people interaction ( Teacher- learner relationship) Tolerance Planning Time observing Satisfaction High level of communication skills Self- motivation What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The fact that my field ( Education) is not valuded by the society( INLUDING THE GOVERNMENTS); mostly in developping countries.For example, when you tell people that you are a teacher, you are looked down irrespective where you teaher or the salary you earn.
