Suicide and Crisis Intervention Line

May 2009-June 2009. Office Administrator Assistant. Daily tasks included secretary work, creating and conducting surveys, project management (Link Program), resource distribution, resource updating, research, and suicide and crisis intervention.

Youth in Transition/ Chrysalis House

September 2010-present. This community development project focuses on youth at risk research and service expansion along with the production of an organization profile document for Chrysalis House, a shelter for homeless females.

Habitat for Humanity

June 2010, July 2010. Tasks included insulation, scaffolding, painting, power tool handling, and landscaping.

WWOOFing

June 2010. Volunteer work included the upkeep and maintenance of a hostel and farm baches, weeding, customer service, promotion video and advertisement production, radio show host, and festival planning.

Maori International Internship

May 2010- July 2010. Studying Maori policy relations with the New Zealand government enhanced my study in Aboriginal rights. I also lived with Maori families while participating in their communities and studying in a Maori university.

Non-Violent Communication Facilitation

February 2009.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Training

July 2009. This training is aimed to teach youth self respect, community respect, and overall important values (Respect, Empathy, Self Sufficiency, Productivity, Empowerment, Cooperation, Tolerance)

A.S.I.S.T. (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and safeTALK

2009. This training covers the types of suicide prevention (prevention, intervention, postvention), addressing the concerns of persons at risk, assessing the suicide risk level, and how to contract a safe plan.

New Brunswick Volunteer Sector Research

October 2008-February 2009. I worked with government representatives to create a survey targeting provincial Non Profit Organizations and charities to collect data about demographics, funding, linguistics, and relationship with the government. Findings were presented to government representatives and a follow up report outlining recommendations was distributed throughout the volunteer sector of New Brunswick.
