Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others, especially people from diverse backgrounds provides me with an opportunity to learn and appreciate individual differences; as well enable them learn from me. My philosophy is: 'There is something you can do that I cannot, and there is something that I can do that you cannot; but if we do it together, then we can succeed.'

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone provides me with an opportunity to evaluate myself and do self-correction where necessary. It also allows me to work and think independently.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst working experience came when a learner with deafblindness, with whom I dedicated my time to teach Self Help Skills for four years died immediately after completing the course due to heart-related complications; it was heartbreaking!

To appreciate people and every opportunity that comes my way; do my work diligently and listen to people's opinions but make an independent decision.

What unique skills do you have?

Braille transcription and debrailling.

To own and efficiently run a learning institution for learners with special needs from multi-cultural backgrounds.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Working with communities in awareness creation on special needs and disabilities.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

There are instances when parents and caretakers dumb their children with severe special need who are under the care of specialists like me, then surface after some years to claim parenthood of the child, especially after the child has made progress; yet they have all the rights to have their children with them.

What are your key working skills?

High degree of integrity, commitment, initiative an ability to work under minimum supervision, can cope with pressure and a team player.
