Mohammad Sameer Khan (99.245.102.90) - 10/23/09 10:47

What type of job are you looking for?

I have worked as a sales person here in Canada for my school summer break (approximately two months) selling ADT Home Security packages. Other jobs include working at KFC (as a student - part time) for 1 1/2 yrs, forking for Scotia Bank as a teller as a high school co-op student, and my latest job was working at Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) as an office clerk for approximately 1 1/2 yrs as well. I am seeking a job where I will be able to utilize my skills gained from experiences with previous jobs.

What nationality are you?

I was born in Muscat, Oman to Pakistani parents and now I hold Canadian passport.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I fluently speak Urdu and English.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am only looking to work in Makkah, or Madinah (Saudi Arabia). My reason for these two cities only is that these cities are the most favorable by Islam and most respected in the whole Islamic world. My life in Canada has been really confusing for me and I need a place to work and stay while it re-flourish my life and help me concentrate better with worldly affairs. I have not been able to concentrate well here in Canada with my studies and other lively aspects due to psychological confusions.

What countries have you worked in?

Canada only.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I only have a Canadian passport right now.

What field do you currently work in?

My latest job was working as an office clerk for a big Canadian bank. My job included discharging the paid-off mortgages for different properties in different Canadian provinces, and contacting lawyers and clients for various reasons. My department was being outsourced which caused my lay-off from my working position.

What fields have you worked in before?

Bank teller, sales, and fast-food.

What qualifications do you hold?

I studied accounting in college for one year. I have been facing complications with my concentration to life here in Canada which led me to quit temporarily my studies. I also needed money for my personal and family expenses, therefore I started working at a job.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider my education and skills acquired while working different places equally valuable because both of these areas provide knowledge of how to be successful at a workplace. My education gave me more of a professional understanding of a workplace and its environment (in theory), while gaining skills and experience from actual hands-on working gave me a practical idea of a workplace.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I personally believe working with others can have following benefits:

- The working enviornment is cheerful. - Needing help, one can always contact co-workers for help. - Co-workers can motivate each other into working better. - I would personally compete sometimes with friends on who does the most sales for the day.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone can also have benefits which in my opinion include better concentration and more time to think while you are working.

What was your worst working experience?

Every one has bad experience once in a while no matter what kind of job they are working at. I also had a few in bad experiences in the past but the recent one I can remember is when I was forwarded a false mortgage to discharge. The mortgage was still active and not paid-off. After discharging the mortgage I was contacted by a different department and upon their request, I had to contact different institutions which worked with our bank, and I had to cancel and request a stop from confirming the discharge of the mortgage.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I have been a shy person and uncomfortable working in a traditionally Canadian-like environment where all the genders work together and often their conversations are not to the standards I was grew up in and all the religious and family values I was taught. Anyways, the very important lessons I learned throughout my career is always to ask for help if and when there's confusion, and also not to delay your work thinking that you will finish it after.

What unique skills do you have?

My unique skills are as follows:

- Fast typing - Able to multitask - Good communication skills - Problem solving skills - Honest and trustful - Adjustable to different working enviornemts

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My 'dream job' would be to be either on a very high rank of an organization, or being a boss of my own. Right now I have some difficulties in completing my education, but my future plans are to be either a Chartered Accountant, or a Mechanical Engineer.

My dream job also includes helping people nearest me, i.e. starting from my co-workers to my relatives, neighborhood, town, city, etc. I dream of helping Muslim Ummah for the love and sake of Allah SWT.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Interesting aspect of my field are: working with others, brainstorming ideas on a professional level, and opportunities to grow into different positions.

Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I am least interested in working on computers for long hours.

How can potential employers contact you?

I would prefer to be contacted in the following order:

- E-mail: - Home Ph#: - Cell#: --------------- My contact details are provided with my e-mail address above.
