Dear sir

I am hereby submitting my application for a vacant position of ‘Financial Controller or Accounts Supervisor” in your prestigious Company. I am from the island of Mauritius and I am holding the post of ‘Head of Finance “ in a Government owned company responsible for the management of five secondary schools (four in Mauritius and one in Agalega).since 1995.

I feel that that my long experience in the field of accounting and finance will definitely enable to excel in my duties and to deliver the goods. Please find below a list of all the main duties that I am performing in the organization.

• Responsible for all financial matters of the Company

• Preparation of the yearly Company’s Accounts.

• Monitoring the monthly grants paid by the Schools Authority to the five schools.

• Responsible for procurement of school requisites and the Head Office including furniture, equipment and computer hardware as well as laptops.

• Launching of tenders which is then opened in the Finance Committee.

• Liaise with suppliers for all procurement following approval by the Finance Committee and the Board.

• Monitoring funds being transferred from the Head Office to the Schools’ account.

• Verifying all the vouchers and receipts for expenses carried out at the Head Office and the Schools.

• Monitoring the payment of all utilities as well as payments made to contractors.

• Carrying out inventory of all assets.

• Preparation of Program Based Budgets which then submitted to the finance Committee and the Board for approval

• Submission of all returns regarding taxes (PAYE & Corporate) as well as medical and pension contributions.

• Supervision of all cargo being shipped to Agalega.

• Attending to queries made by the Auditor.
