investment financeWhat type of job are you looking for? I am mainly interested in investment banking. however any form of finance related job is welcome . Obe can never have enough exposure or experience. a diversity implies flexibility and cooperativeness. What nationality are you? i am Kenyan. Although those who've met me in the last 5 years would argue otherwise. I have been studying in Uganda. so i guess for nationality i should just say East African? for now at least... What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English and Swahili, am well versed in. i have taken French and have an understanding grasp of it. I took it for four years at high school level. As for the other two, I've been practicing since i joined school. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am not specific in the country. This is partially as i said i want to be exposed to all forms of diversity, cultural lingual...anything new learned is definately in my favor. Perhaps this is as good a time as any to say, i love to travel. that's my other reason. What countries have you worked in? i have worked in Kenya, as an intern. i have not had the opportunity to work elsewhere yet. What countries do you have a visa to work in? i have no visa to work anywhere, but that would be because to get a visa i need to prove that i actually have a job in the destination country. What field do you currently work in? I am currently unemployed. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in the insurance field. What qualifications do you hold? I have recently completed my Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? While i would be tempted to say formal education, am stopped by the apparent statistics that most of the working class on the world today are in fields other than their fields of study. therefore i opt for skills. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others lets u reflect upon them, view your strong points as well as shortcomings.This combined with the fact that we all do not know the exact same things, and there is more than one way to skin a rabbit, then i think finding out new things. Describe the benefits of working alone This would help in a field where fast decision making is paramount. it deals with the conference aspect of mauling for hours about one plan of action. What was your worst working experience? When the highest ranking official in the company,having never met him as he'd been out of the office,came and talked to me as a colleague.I was embarrassed when i learned whom I'd been talking to and had not paid due credence. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Every situation is unique. no one situation is an exact copy of another and should never be treated as such. What unique skills do you have? the skill am most proud of is the ability to see things clearly as they are. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be working for a high profile investment bank as an investor with a very large and profiting portfolio of clients. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The ability to be agile in whatever i pursue. it is diverse. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The variety of challenges it poses in deciding which aspect to pursue. it makes on fore go other beneficial, challenging, educational opportunities. Why do i love my career so much? I had never thought about going into finance and did almost everything i could to avoid this alley. however after 2 years of running, it chose me and i cannot imagine what i was thinking.... it has made me. so i will honor its choice and make it proud.
