Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills and education work hand in hand. I am extremely practical and can maintain all my own machinery. I work well on my own or with others and adapt well to any culture. I am also currently studying to progress with my formal education.

Describe the benefits of working with others

It is a great benefit to work with others. You can learn from each other's different skills and mindsets. Working within a team environment, you can often achieve a lot more.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Self-achievement, pride in what one person can accomplish, challenging yourself and putting yourself against budgets, deadlines etc.

What was your worst working experience?

Many years ago- working for someone who didn't set high enough standards for what I aimed to achieve in my job.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

To always give your best and never to burn bridges.

What unique skills do you have?

I have a sense of humour and am very much a people person. I am able to settle in to any environment I am in. I show great initiative in any job I undertake and have an unique practical ability. I can do anything I put my mind to. My bird identification knowledge is good and I am a bird ringer. I am confident in handling any form of wildlife and am passionate about conservation. I am extremely hardworking and time efficient.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job would combine landscaping with conservation ideally- but either or would be great!

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Being outdoors with nature and getting to do a job I absolutely love. It's having the opportunity to make a difference.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

There are none.

1. What has been one of your greatest achievements in your career so far? 2. Where would you like to see yourself in ten years?

1. The Wetland work I did on Roche Caiman- turning a wasteland into a usable wetland and environmental education tool for future generations of Seychellois and tourists. 2. Although most jobs are offered as apart of a 2 year contract and I would be more than willing to take such a position, I'd ideally like to see myself on a rolling contract with whichever employer is fortunate enough to acquire me because I find the Seychelles a perfect place to raise a family- the environment, the outdoor way of life and I hope to continue to leave my mark.
