I have known from the first time I picked up a crayon that I wanted to be an artist.From grade6 i have been drowing without formal education. Now, I have mastered the craft of illustrating in different styles.From cartoony to realistic.I'm enamored with fashion illustrations, storyboarding & animatics, photo-retouching to appear like illustrations and caricatures. Have been exposed to storyboarding in advertising agency atmosphere.I am observant on people,the human figure,to give life to my illustrations (wrinkles on their faces, folds of their clothes, messy hairs, eyes, etc) What nationality are you? I presently live and work in dubai.I am a filipina illustrator/graphic designer. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak and write English fluently, i can say excellent. I speak tagalog as my native language What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I want to work somewhere in any asian country because i want to work near philippines as my family is living there. What countries have you worked in? I have only worked in the middleast which is dubai united arab emirates. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I am presently holding a resident visa in dubai united arab emirates What field do you currently work in? I am currently working as head of illustrations department in a multinational ad agency in dubai What fields have you worked in before? I started as a visualizer in a small ad agency, became an art director for numerous ad agencies in the philippines and dubai. Mostly multinationals. What qualifications do you hold? I had a bachelor of science in Commerce (BSC)Major in Advertising from a prestigious university in the philippines Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think both are valuable in a different perspective. I have gotten the theories from my formal educations and applied that theories to the actual work. And also applied the strategies, and common sense i have learned from different creative experience to create a perfect job. Describe the benefits of working with others You will also learn a lot in working with others.Especially if they are working on different aspect of creativity. I develop my teamwork spirit.You can also get positive comments in improving your work. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone has advantages too. You get the concentration you wanted in finishing a job especially if it is complicated. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience is when i am given a very short time for a complicated work. But so far i have managed to deal with the complications. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt to be patient. I have learnt to enjoy doing my job even under stress. I love my job like i am working for my own company.For me, it's not all about money. It how you love doing your job. What unique skills do you have? I am a very good illustrator, a storyboard artist; a fashion illustrator. I can illustrate feeling; strength, style, etc.I can illustrate men figure with all its strengthy muscles, or women in all its femininity and fashion; children in all its innocence. I can vary my styles depending on concepts. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to manage a group of illustrators or work as their representatives in a freelance company. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The interesting aspect is you get to express your thoughts and put into image what is running in your mind, be it weird, funny, fantasy or whatever. You get to visualize concepts of writers according to what they wanted and you get excited about the results. What is my expectation from a company that will hire me? My expectation from a company that will hire me ,I would want a free accommodation; a substantial salary, a free ticket to my country every year.I would expect the company to appreciate my contribution if they find that i am an asset to their company.
