LAKME: Short Film casting auditions for ACTORS --We are a group of Final Year Digital Visual Effects student from School of Film Media Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, looking for talents to act in our 15 mins film production which will be the first in Singapore to be shot fully in Stereographic 3D. Synopsis of Lakme: Lakme is about two children - quiet Michael Phillips and somewhat rebellious Jess Walton - enjoy the ever-shortening days of summer. But as violinist Dr Seth approaches to town, the two friends quickly discover that there is something wicked about this man, his violin and the music it produces. Doors to unchartered territories will be open. -- ROLES 1. Character: Micheal Philips Gender: Male Age: 12-16 Description: Micheal, the protagonist, introverted 10 years old suffering from ADHD. Michael believes he is a “good at nothing” despite the fact that he has great sensibility especially towards music but does not know how to use this very special gift. 2. Character: Jess Walton Gender: Female Age: 12-16 Description: Jess, 12 years old tomboy sort of girl, is Michael’s best friend and she sees him as her little brother even if they are just friends. She has developed empathy for Michael’s condition and feels responsible of anything that could happen to Michael. 3. Character: Prof. Jenkins Gender: Male Ethnicity: Mixed/White Age: 40-60 Description: Prof.Jenkins, Micheal’s music teacher, early 60s, had devoted his entire life to teaching music and experimenting its application in therapy (music therapy) 4. Character: Dr. Seth Gender: Male Ethnicity: Mixed/White Age: 30-40 Description: Dr. Seth, an evil musician, firm and deceives people by pretending to be nice. Has a tendency to lose his anger at anyone who goes against him. 5. Character: Micheal’s Mother Gender: Female Age: 40-60 Description: Caring and Loving with a soft heart. Shows her love for Micheal. 6. Character: Aadi Gender: Male Age: 10-14 Description: A young boy trapped in the virtual world.
