Seeking Job in The Middle EastWhat type of job are you looking for? I am especially suited to General Management, I have a technical and mechanical aptitude, and hence can fit into many roles. My greatest expertise is in Planning and implementing projects and new business ventures, especially those of an Agricultural nature. What nationality are you? I am Zimbabwean by birth, but South African by descent. My current citizenship is South African What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I am seeking employment in the Middle East. Since losing my businesses during the Political Crisis in Zimbabwe I have found that I enjoy working in unorthodox situations. I like the challenge of of facing the unusual. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Africa What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have access to a visa for Qatar, as well as most African countries. I can get a Spousal Visa for the U.K. as my wife works in England What field do you currently work in? Project Planning on the Agricultural side of a large Transport Project. I am a member of the team that secured the Tender for the development of the Zambezi River.Currently it has been elevated into the political arena due to a border incident between the two countries involved. As a result the project has been closed. What fields have you worked in before? Agriculture, Commercial Business Establishment Agricultural Consulting Project Planning What qualifications do you hold? High School Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Despite the fact that my Family all had a tertiary education I was unable to have access to this due to being conscripted into the Army. I would have preferred a University education, but life has taught me lessons I would never have learned at a College or University. It has made me versatile and flexible. Surviving the collapse of the economy in Zimbabwe has taught me what few people know. Describe the benefits of working with others I enjoy the bonds that develop in working with others. As an ex-soldier I know that one has to rely on ones companions, but also that all members need to cover for each others weak points. I also accept that my companions will cover for mine. I strongly believe in team work, and have always played in team sports. Describe the benefits of working alone When alone one is able to concentrate more fully. I have spent many years working on my own. I don't view it as being ideal but accept the need for it. As a soldier I was in an Intelligence Unit and worked alone often. I was able to go to places where a group would never be undetected. So a measure on anonymity is at times an advantage. What was your worst working experience? We lost 4 businesses in the Political crisis in Zimbabwe. We went from a relatively comfortable life to having to start at Ground Zero. It was a financial nightmare, but we survived and managed to educate our 3 boys. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned to be more cautious, to spread my financial risk as much as possible. I also learned the people can be manipulated politically, so politics are a reality in the business world. One needs to be aware of current events. I am also more "street wise" as a result What unique skills do you have? I have a natural mechanical aptitude. I learned how to do engine and gearbox overhauls, I can weld, use oxy-acetylene, in short I had a fully functional workshop. I am also a good people person. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I would enjoy consulting to people starting up businesses, especially in Agriculture, I enjoyed my time working with the Shadow Government in Southern Sudan advising them on how to structure their agricultural sector. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I like to go to new places, I enjoy the challenge of working in unusual environments. I'm fascinated by different cultures and customs.I perform at my best in places most people wouldn't go to.I am respectful of other cultures, and believe that we can combine the talents that we have to become a stronger whole. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I find that a regular job can become boring, and I don't produce at my best in such environments. I accept the need for these and have spent my most of my life in such situations but I am an out of the box thinker, so I like the challenges. How can potential employers contact you?
