What type of job are you looking for?

A Health Promotion job.I enjoy training people,seeing them through behavioral change.Life has a lot of aspects but one enjoys when you are in the middle of it as you discover your inner most best.

What nationality are you?

South African

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Xhosa is my home language English(speak,write and read) Afrikaans (speak ,read and write)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Cape Town Johannesburg Mpumalanga I actually do not have aproblem with any location as I have experience in working in a rural area as well as in town, so both developed and under developed areas are a piece of cake to me.

What countries have you worked in?

Only South Africa

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None but can organise one to work in any county.

What field do you currently work in?

I am currently a senior environmental Health Practitioner in South Africa, Cape Town.

What fields have you worked in before?

Coordinator for health promotion projects in the district. Health AND SAFETY OFFICER COORDINATOR FOR COMPLIANCE IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH FUNCTIONS IN THE DISTRICT

What qualifications do you hold?

BTech in Environmental Health and other certificates in presentation skills,evidence based health promotion,peace officer,ensuring water quality,health and safety,computer

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills-in order to enforce change one has to know the skill.a lot of people have formal education but cannot put that into practicality which then becomes useless as the outcome is meaningless.with the skills, resources will not be wasted, which means no loss whether it be time or things being damaged because of lack of knowledge or company liquidation due to lack of productivity.

Describe the benefits of working with others

You learn more from them as people differ in specialities.you learn more about yourself as well as you will discover or tend to unfold because of certain questions or way of doing things in others which will open a room for you that there is always much more in each and everyone of us.team building is a good exercise in developing people.

Describe the benefits of working alone

measuring your best in doing things.setting targets for yourself boosts even the confidence as you have to approch everything by yourself.being able to see where you need to polish in your life or work because one will be able to see which skill,education or training is still needed in ones life to become even more of a better person.

What was your worst working experience?

It was when I was locked in a refrigerator by one of the shop owners in Mpumalanga province when I went to do shop inspection because they were selling unsound foodstuff to the people but I conquered that because here I am still ensuring that food is safe for consumption.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

behaviour can change if you encourage community participation and consulting the community before you enforce change in their areas.respect people and they will also respect you

What unique skills do you have?

best skill-communication skill listening skill

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

having a talk show - to listen to people views, even from different countries,train people on health and safety measures on food safety,personal hygiene, importance of hand washing,water safety, communicable diseases.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

pest control waste management health and safety in formal settlements food safety community development

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

we concentrate more on prevention than curing

Is it necessary to have a drivers licence in your field?

Yes,I am a field worker
