Social Auxiliary Worker

South African

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold an FET Social Auxiliary Worker certificate.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I believe that they are both valuable, take for an example in the social work field one needs to have both formal education and skills. Formal education is needed when it comes to report writing, interviewing, communicating with others, working with different acts and skills is needed to execute what one has learned(formal education). One can have a formal education but lack is skills of executing what he/she has learned. For me they go hand in hand.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others means that I have an opportunity to constantly learn, improve and grow as a person and a social auxiliary worker.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone works at times especially when u want to perform tasks the way u see best and to the best of your ability.

What was your worst working experience?

I don't have a worst working experience, I take every challenge head on and to turn a negative situation into a positive one.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

That one never stops learning new things in life and career wise. If I stop earning then there won't be any use for me to work.

What unique skills do you have?

I am good with people ( different age groups, race, ethnicity), I am a very fast learner, I am able to work with minimal supervision, interviewing skills, I am professional at all times. I always meet my deadlines.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

To work as a social worker working with children.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I get to work with different types of people with different takes on life, different types of problems and the most interesting thing is that I get to learn a thing or two from them and see where my strengths and weaknesses are.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Sitting behind the desk and doing admin. I love working with children, people closely, in the field.

Please replace this with a question of your own

What has been your greatest achievement?

How can potential employers contact you?
