English and Sotho-excellent; a bit of Zulu; Peli and Tswana very little of Xhoza What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Actually anywhere - but preferably in Southern Africa. I think just because I studies and work in South Africa and believe I am more familiar with the laws and requlations in this country. What countries have you worked in? South Africa (Free State) and a bit in Lesotho What countries do you have a visa to work in? At the moment I dont have any; but it is always not a problem as long as one has an appointment letter to apply with. What field do you currently work in? Construction Site Agent What fields have you worked in before? Housing, road and a bit of bridge(small)construction and maintenance. What qualifications do you hold? National Diploma and rewriting Construction Economics III to complete my Degree by end of this month. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both formal and skills as with this kind of work, one has to be able to read and write the technical drawings to be able to do the proper skill requirements and advise where need be. Describe the benefits of working with others One always learn new things and new characters when working with others which always help grow both field and self wise AND time minimising because of more hands. Working as a site agent and the contractor not paying the employees on time and employees rebelling against me; hoping to get their wages. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I learnt that as a site agent I have to be a self finance controller (flexibility of coordinating the finances on the particular project); not being a planner and not having full control of the project finances; (of cause keeping of all records - receipts very essential to account for the money). What unique skills do you have? As an in-born contractor I interact well with people in my working environment and am very computer literate; fluent in office and site language and work literate both office and site. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Owning my own QS firm What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Taking pride in the end (quality) result and caring very much of my employees and having a good relationship with the client What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Working with a client who is not willing to do what is agreed upon with the architects and engineers.
