| Answers: Family Troubles Please Help? So here's what's going on. I'm 22 and own my own house, work full time with a good job, and pay all my bills on my own. My mother growing up was always the one to busy to attend to her children because she was drinking. So about 2 days ago she calls me to tell me she's confessing to her drinking problem and she needs help. She currently lives in South Dakota right now and is moving back to Minnesota in November. She coming to stay with me but shes moving here a day before my 23 b-day and i want to go out with my friends. I don't want her to see that im drinking but i think she will go down to the bar and see me there if she knows im going to be there. Also shes only staying with me for a few days then im moving her to another city about an hour away. How can i help her with her drinking problem and get her to forgive the things in the past that haunts her? She letting the past get to her and bad things have happened to her when she was young. Which probably lead her to drink and be on antidepressants. Can i attend an AA meeting to understand what they go through? How can i support her mentally? |
