what type of job are you looking for?

Support worker for adults and children with learning difficulties

What nationality are you?

British

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

All of Spain I just love coming to Spain

What countries have you worked in?

Scotland is the only place but I have been in Spain and the canaries with my work at present

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None at moment but hopefully I will have one for Spain

What field do you currently work in?

I work as a support worker for adults with learning difficulties and disabilities in their own home

What fields have you worked in before?

I have worked as a carer for elderly in nursing home setting

What qualifications do you hold?

I have all my training up to date an SVQ level 2 and I also do health and safety representative in the work place

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I think they are both very valuable as it good to have an education but to get a skill as you work you learn a lot quicker and understand better what is expected of you in your role

Describe the benefits of working with others

Its good to work in a team setting as you can learn from your fellow staff team and also they can learn from yourself

Describe the benefits of working alone

Its good to work alone as you get to know the people/person you work with better and you can learn more about the people/person

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

To listen to people and take on board all help you are given

What unique skills do you have?

I am the health and safety representative at work

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job is to be able to work abroad as a support worker/manager and to work with kids with learning disability

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Meeting new people and always learning something new

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I think all parts of my job are interesting

Why would you want to work abroad

I have wanted to work abroad for many years and I feel its time for a change and to come abroad and learn more about the job I love
