pharmacistWhat type of job are you looking for? I'm pharmacist and i would like to work with international health field, working with an NGO or in a tropical diseases unit from a hospital. What nationality are you? I'm catalan, from Spain What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak foure languages: catalan, is my matern language. Spanish, is the co-official language, so at high level. English, almost first certificate level(without accreditation) and frenc, medium level. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? At this moment, i would like to work in Africa because i've never been there before. Althought, South America also is a place where I would like t work, where I feel comfortable because of the language and because I've been there before. What countries have you worked in? I've been twice in Peru, where I did practices in two different hospitals:the first one was a regional and small one, and the second one was the most specializated hospital of Peru. In Barcelona, I've been working untill now in comunitary pharmacies and I did my practices of the university (9 month) in Hospital de Sant Pau (Barcelona) What field do you currently work in? Usually I work as a pharmacist in a comunitary pharmacy What fields have you worked in before? I was in contact with child's education What qualifications do you hold? I'm pharmacist and a Master in Tropical diseases and International Health Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider more valuable the skills, cause at the end what you need in the real laboral situation is somebdoy that has learned before in academic way but, after that, what is important is to put in practice the knowledge that you have acquired. Describe the benefits of working with others When I imagine myself working in somwhere, it appears in my mind a multidisciplinary team, different kinds of specialities and a group of people for me is an effective way to learn and work. Describe the benefits of working alone To work alone, for me, has the benefit to learn a lot, in situ, for necessity you become more versatile. What was your worst working experience? WHen I was not a pharmacist yet, I started to work in a pharmacy where almost I felt alone, because there was just a biologist girl and me, and we had to improve our Knowledge and to assume , at this moment, my higher responsability. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Pharmacy is a versatil career that introduce you a lot of fields at the same time. But after that, you have the feeling that is not enough to see once a few of everything. I've learned that is important to find what you really like, and then improve deeperly in this field. What unique skills do you have? I love the work with people and primary attention, beeing close to the patients. Is easy for me to speak, to be motivate for the job, to be get used to a new place. I love to learn and to work closed to professionals from different fields. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I would like to work in the international health field. Probably now, my dream job is to be in contact with a NGO to have my first experience. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? International health and the movement and migrations that are constantly happening in the world, is probably what makes this field as interesting as it is. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Lots of NGO projects are not working good, or the reults that they expected are not just depending on them, but yes they depend on the politic and econmic intention of the different countries.
