Experienced Barman!What type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job as a bartender in Barcelona. Preferably in a cocktail bar as making good drinks is my speciality. What nationality are you? English What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak a little bit of french, and basic Spanish but I am keen to become fluent in both. I am a fast learner. And english ..obviously. :) What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I would like to work in Barcelona. Me and my girlfriend are relocating there next week, and I would like to have some interviews/trial shifts if need be set up before I go. I would like to work in the centre of Barcelona. What countries have you worked in? I worked in London for 10 years, in some of London's best bars. I have also worked in Azerbaijan and worked as a bartender there for an Ivan the terrible vodka press release event. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I can work anwhere in Europe, and I also have a visa to work in the States. What field do you currently work in? Professional bartender. What fields have you worked in before? I have always been a professional bartender. I worked my way up from a bar back at my first bar job, then progressed to head bar person, then manager, and finally at my last bar job, I ran a London bar with a friend. What qualifications do you hold? Professional Bartender. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider skills to be more important, because you can learn dozens if not more skills in your lifetime and apply yourself to do anything. In saying this, I was well educated as a youth..and attened private schooling. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other is great! You can learn from eachother, create teamwork bonds, and it makes work more enjoyable if you work with good people. Positive energy. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alson can also be good because you might be able to reach a goal quicker than if you were in a group. Working alone isnt something I am interested in though. For what I do is very people orientated. What was your worst working experience? I havent had many bad working experiences, but I think maybe the one that sticks out most in my mind is when I worked for an event company in London a few years back...I didnt get on well with one of the bartenders, and it put a damper on the whole experience and event. We just clased personalities. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned many lessons. Believe in your skills..I think this one is most important. If you doubt yourself and how good you are/can be, how can other see how good you are/ can be. What unique skills do you have? I am an excellent drinks maker. I am very personable, and when Im behind a bar I light the place up. I am most happy behind a bar, serving up some seriously good beverages to customers. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Well....down the line I hope to have my own bar. Running it, and loving it. But for now, working in a top quality bar in Barcelona, making great drinks would be my ideal job. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Mixology...freedom to create new drinks...experimenting. The world is my oyster when it comes to making drinks. You can never get bored.
