LIVED AND WORKED IN BENIDORM Hi Folks. I write to tell ppl about Benidorm Live. I lived and worked in Benidorm and believe the base for meetings was Lepin bar, Hi Tommy. Firstly from end of July till September there is a serious decline in British tourists, due to heat and the majotity of places cater for the Spanish people as nearly the whole of Spain's cities like Madrid, Barcelona Etc all close their businesses for the month of August. The populationDuring the above mentioed period Benidorm's main tourist population are from Spain, France, Italy or Portugal. Many British owned businesses choose to close. If this is the business I know of it is the brainchild of a Dublin man, whose name escapes me. Broadly speaking the job entails street selling, which attracts fines unless you are licensed to do so, during the day. On an evening you are expected to tour bars to sell tickets, as you can well imagine touting to divert trade from any bar is less then welcomed. I feel from people who I have known to work for these people earnings were far below what they state, in adittion there is a high likelyhood of the Friday night pub crawls being cancelled, as in order for these to take place there has to be a minimum number of attendees, and you also only get paid if they turn up and the event goes ahead. My advice is to stay at home and have less hassle and stress to cope with. |
