Looking for work in Magaluf 2010 please help! What type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job in either Promotions or waitressing, bar maid. What nationality are you? I am a British citizen. Living in the United Kingdom What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English, additional to this, i have my GCE Spanish and currently tutor GCE student in my former school. Also i have my Irish GCE and Alevel. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am eager to work in Magaluf. The reason being, i went there this year for a two week holiday and simply fell in love with the place! I am eager to experience a lot in life and the entire lifestyle of workers in Maagluf is one i am keen to experience. What countries have you worked in? I have worked only in the United Kingdom and hopefully you can help me to change that! What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have a British Passport and can work anywhere in the E.U. What field do you currently work in? At the moment i am working for a nightclub as a Bar Maid, however during the day i also waitress in a pub. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked mainly in the promotional area. Which i thoroghly enjoyed. Before i became a bar maid at the club i currently work at i Did promotions for the club which i still ocassionally do now when i can fit it in. I have also worked in the Sales industry, working in Topshop for just short of a year. What qualifications do you hold? I have Nine GCSE's all between Grades A*-C I have a grage A in spanish I have my Maths English and Science. I also have 4 Alevels in English-A Media Studies-B Sociology-B Irish-A* Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? In my opinion i am extremely grateful to the " Formal education" system, i have gained grades that can take me to University as soon as i feel ready. However skills such as doing coarses in Hairdressing ect were things which i took time to consider and they are highly thought of in my mind, however they just werent for me. The skills i have picked up in every job i have ever had however are extremely important to me, in fact they are evry bit as improtant as any Grade i have gained in Exams. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others has many Benefits, especially for me! I am a people person so the main reason i can think of is making new friends. Also improtantly, team work can go a very long way in terms of working together and getting the job done, and getting it done properly! Working with others gives you a chance to interact with people, and a chance to seek advice in what you are doing from people who have been there longer than you. Describe the benefits of working alone I can think of few benefits of working alone, however my reasoning for this is only due ro the fact that each line of work ive been in has involved working with others. However when i was doing P.r for a club, i was bringing customers into the club alone, i found the benefit was the fact that I knew my targets and knew i was letting only myself down if i failed to get the numbers in hence me being eager not to let myself down and to get as many people in as i could. What was your worst working experience? My worst experience in work would have to be dealing with abuse from intoxicated customers whom i have been forced to refuse serving a drink to them at the bar. They have became extremely abusive and aggressive. However i am well trained to deal with these types of customers and have more experience with them than you can imagine! What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that making an effort with your colleagues goes a long way. In work i have a section to deal with, however if my section is empty i never hesitate to help a colleague with theirs if is it busy! Team work gets you a long way, and what goes around comes around. At the end of the day i always try to remember we all work for the same place and person, so it is all of our responciblities to ensure what needs to be done is done. What unique skills do you have? Firstly i would like to say that i am extremely Reliable and Loyal. In every job i have ever had i am constatly being praised for covering shifts whenever the boss of a colleague is in need! I am bubbly and cheerful, I am hardworking but not shy of having a lot of fun! I am generous and Honest i can be trusted. I pick up new skills quickly and can promise you i would be a dedicated member of staff! What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to open my own business in P.R And communications.Starting off as a P.R representative myself, but eventually opening a business where i get tho chose the candidates who will promote other businesses, businesses that will come to me and put the choice and responcibility of how to go about promoting their busines into my hands. I do intend to make this dream a reality and go to Uni however i just feel i have so much more to see and do before i settle back into Education! I feel Magaluf being a worker is part of the experience for me. Something i need to do! What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects are the people i get to meet! Not only work mates, peeople who become my friends, merely from being regulars whom i seem to serve everynight. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The least interesting aspects of my field can be just how repetitive it can be. Being stood behind the bar all night whenevr it is quiet can be quite a drag however i am confident this wont be a problem in Magaluf because i am not work shy, i enjoy a busy work place as it avoids the drag and the night seems to fly because you are rushed off your feet. Please replace this with a question of your own Does the job you may be offering me come with workers accomidation, or if not can you advise me on going about getting my accomodation sorted before arrival in Magaluf?
