An education officer/ advisor/ manager/ instructor/ lecturer

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

- english at any level

- kiswahili at any level

- luhya in kenya

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

- southern sudan

- because southern sudan has been associated with kenya for long

especially during the peace making process

What field do you currently work in?

i am currently an education officer in charge of early childhood

development in kenya

What fields have you worked in before?

i have been a teacher and a headteacher in primary schools for over 20

years.

What qualifications do you hold?

- masters of philosophy in early childhood and primary education.

- bachelor of early childhood and primary education

- diploma in kiswahili education

- certificate in primary teaching

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

- i consider formal education more valuable because it also goes with

skills.formal education encompasses life long objectives unlike skills

which don't carry other aspects like logic,values and coexistence.

Describe the benefits of working with others

- working with others has many benefits among them; -sharing,appreciation,responsibility,leadership,social

adjustment,cooperation

Describe the benefits of working alone

working alone has the following benefits;

-independence,decision making,reduced need for supervision,working at

own pace,early completion of tasks

What was your worst working experience?

- working with members of the school committee who had conflict of

interest during tendering when the school received ksh 500,000/- from a

donor

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

- i have learned that it pays to serve the most vulnerable

children.That it calls for total sacrifice to understand and advocate

for children.

What unique skills do you have?

- ability to communicate clearly and objectively

- report writing and presentation

- ms word,ms excel,internet

- fundraising

- proposal writing

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

- a job where my career objectives and service to humanity are

appreciated

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

- community mobilization,monitoring and evaluation of education

standards,training communities on early childhood education

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

- staying in the office for lack of transport to travel and do field

supervision
