Portuguese-Spanish-Hungarian-English speaker multifunctional worker looking for  Q: Why Svalbard to work and leave?? A: Well, that is not like a place we do think to work when we grow up in Brazil, seems much colder that I can even assume but that is exactelly the challenge, to find out new perspectives in our lives, after spent 12 years in Hungary I got a bit familiar with winter, we do have sometimes minus 10 celsius :-) but the reason is not just the agressive weather, but what I do belive that I can offer and this is besides everything much more important, I do believe that my life experience working as a missionary for 2 years on board of a ship travelling the 7 seas with 350 young people from 35 different countries left the people's skills I do need to survive in such a place. My younghood in brazil working hard in our little farm made me became a real man, my moving to Budapest looking for new perspectives ( my parentes left Hungary after 2nd world war) is just the normal path of seeking what mankind do always, what is the best for him and his family. Because I do have 2 nationalities I feel myself apatria in a way, like belonging to the world, perhaps is the globalization efects. Unfortunatelly in Hungary the situation is really hard, like all around Europe at the moment, I fell myself stacked with great skills and not able to apply it, not able to get a proper salary, not able to add for society. When Svalbard came in my first tougth was to find what I'm able to add for this community and at the end not only my skills as a professional man raised but as a human what good values I will be able to give it. Q: What unique skills do you have? A: Besides my communications skills and IT skills I do have strong agricultural skills, once I grow up on a farm in Brazil and I used to work for years with my father on the fields and caring the animals, I'm a good fisher and hunter as well and I love to cook, working on a ship I described on the first question, I spent 1 year on the kitchen as a cook hand so nice meals are also part of my skills.Besides that I was a part time fire mand on board as well. I have worked with most construction machines once I was a site office manager for some years with a hungarian construction company and I know very well how to fix the things... Q: What qualifications do you hold? A: Complete high school and unfinished bacharel in Teology , I'm a Presbiterian guy. |
