Setswana and English (at an advanced level)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

UK, Australia, Canada, Swaziland and South Africa to gain more exposure. I would also like to go back to my country (Botswana) and work so as to assist in developing my country.

What countries have you worked in?

Botswana and Scotland

What field do you currently work in?

Currently studying a doctoral degree (PhD Management) at the university of Glasgow.

What fields have you worked in before?

Education as a secondary school teacher, deputy school head and school head.

What qualifications do you hold?

Teaching certificate, Diploma in secondary education, BEd (Hons) Education Manageement, Master of Business Administration (University of Glasgow), MSc Management Research (University of Glasgow). Doctoral student in the university of Glasgow (field of study Management).

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both are more valuable because formal education is ones fundamental task and would assist in the acquisition of skills. We need formal education not only to read and write but also to have a broader understanding of the world around us. Skills are needed to carry out essential tasks which will help one to earn a better living.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Learning from others Sharing of ideas Acquisition of skills like leadership, communication skills, conflict management skills, listening skills, etc.

Describe the benefits of working alone

More flexible, more concentration, self management, meeting deadlines, self control, assertiveness, etc.

What was your worst working experience?

Attending to a task I had little or no knowledge of during my first days of school headship or leadership.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

How much knowledge one acquires when working as a team or in groups.

What unique skills do you have?

Management consultancy skills - Offering expert advice services regarding organisational strategy and development, strategic human resource management, dealing with organisational behaviour and consumer behaviour, and so forth. I have also acquired the following skills; managing for performance and managing employment relations.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Teaching in a university, as well as researching. Giving expert advice on 'winning strategies' of the 21st century to organisations (firms) Searching out ways which can assist organisations develop

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Developing a winning strategy for an organisation, being involved in research work or delivering (teaching) management topics to mature and advanced learners.
