| Swaziland - NGO Jobs mental health of individuals Mngometulu Wiseman (69.63.70.105) - Mon Mar 31 12:12:22 2008
According to my present understanding, people do not know what mental health is. this is all because they all talk of holistic care yet none of them seem to know what it is. infact I think the main reason to this is that they do not the individual they are working with. Ngo's are doing a good job but it is not right for the mental health develpment of the individual. lets re-think metal health.I am a student nurse studying mental health at the faculty of health sciences and Im willing to help in the approaches towards helpig individuals in society. you are like openning a tin of worms Mr young man. Ngo's seem to focus on the mental health problems' erradication not actually helping the individual live above those problems. such that when the individual who was in poverty now gets the food, what about his emotional development, cognitive development, psychosocial development and obviously spiritual development as the food anly develops the physical. peole of God this is mental health and in mental health we talk of the individual, creating a balance in among these five parts. this is critical, you will see this as you witness mental disorders in rich people and come to understand that your approach need to be revised and be re-focused. Ngos ought to stop owning people like orphans but must work collaboratively, they ought not all to focus on one aspect of the individual but must work to approach the idnividual holistically.
