A Future Student in Borås Looking for Summer EmploymentWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a full-time job during summer months or/and an extra job during the rest of the year. I would feel confident working in the fields of agriculture, forestry, production, press, warehousing and any others. What nationality are you? I am a Lithuanian. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? My mother tongue is Lithuanian, but I am fluent in English and can speak a bit of Russian and Swedish. I have spent 9 years learning English and three months studying Swedish for Internationals(SFI) What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking for work in Borås, Sweden or in Västra Götaland area. I could also accept a summer job in Blekinge or any other part of Sweden if the employer provided me with accommodation. What countries have you worked in? Honestly, I have not worked in any country. However, one of my hobbies since childhood was gardening and I have amassed about 10 years of gardening/forestry/agriculture experience. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Since Lithuania is a part of European Union, I can work in any EU country with no visa or work permit. This includes Sweden as well. What field do you currently work in? I am currently unemployed and studying Swedish for Internationals. What fields have you worked in before? None, but as I have mentioned, I have experience in agriculture. What qualifications do you hold? I have experience in agriculture. Also, I have completed my high-school(gymnasium) with good grades and have displayed good problem-solving skills. I have also studied in an extra-time school of Physics in Lithuania. In addition to this, I am going to study Industrial Engineering - International Business Engineering in the University of Borås from the next year. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I have known many people that have a Master's diploma but work in a completely different field. In my opinion having a good education is not be as important as possessing certain qualities and skills, but university/school are a good place to obtain some of the qualities, skills and important contacts. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others has a benefit of being able to share certain tasks among people and may improve the efficiency of the workplace. Describe the benefits of working alone The main benefit of working alone is ability to make your own choices and organize your work while having to adapt yourself to fewer people. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience is doing my best for several months to find a job and not receiving any offers. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I always knew finding a job is hard, but I realized it is even harder than I thought. What unique skills do you have? I have a lot of experience with gardening, also, good English language skills, problem-solving abilities. I am diligent, reliable, honest and I am never afraid of new challenges. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Any job is better than none, but I am thinking of a future career in industry, warehousing and logistics. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Meeting new people, organizing business and production, solving production and logistics related problems and possibility to accomplish a lot. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Need to take large risks every day, potentially huge responsibility and highly stressful working conditions to name a few. What do you value the most in the workplace? The most important things in the workplace are a good collective, safe workplace and ability to improve as a person.
