My dream job

What type of job are you looking for?

Drving[have an international driving permit with no

restrictions],engineering work such as,welding,pipe

-fitting,boilermaking,rigging,machine moving,etc.I am basically

looking for any type of paying work and my hands are rearing to go!

What nationality are you?

I am South African and have recently moved to Switzerland,Kefikon

with my wife, who is Swiss,on the 25th of December 2009.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English,Xhosa and Afrikaans i speak, write and read very well.As for

German and Swiss-German,i'm getting better and better each day but

can't say that i speak it well at all.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Like i mentioned above,my wife and i are living in

Switzerland,Kefikon with our baby-daughter which is one year old and

with us not having a car it is difficult to get around further than

Switzerland.

What countries have you worked in?

Only South Africa

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have a B-permit for Switzerland.

What field do you currently work in?

I am unemployed at the moment.

What field did you work in last?

For the last three years i have been working with disabled kids, yes i

know, far away from my other fields but it basically fell into my lap

and i'm a firm believer that there are no coincidences. The passion

drove me to help them and have helped to succesfully establish the

school for disabled children. Before i left for Switzerland we,with

the help of occupational therapists, wrote a whole curriculam for the

teaching of children with disabilities.

What qualifications do you hold?

I finished my schooling career in 1993,did 2 years of military

service and started working straight after that.I did a Hambisela

course which deals directly in cerebral palsy and disibilaties.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

All the work i have done before i've learned it by a 'hands on'

approuch and must also say that formal education is very important

to understand the fundementals of a certain field. The best though,i

think,is the practical experience that goes with it.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The secret of any succesfull business is working together.Combined

forces are hard to brake and even the most challenging problem can

be dealt with facing it as a team.

Describe the benefits of working alone

It holds the same benefits as working in teams i think.Problem

solving, how to think for yourself are just some of the many that

inturn helps in team support and other way around.

What was your worst working experience?

I think just not being able to work,to support my family and to have

no income is bad enough.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Look, listen and learn and you can find that that simple rule applies

in every type of field.

What unique skills do you have?

I am a quick learner and adapt to my enviroment.Ready to learn, quick

on my feet and very inquisitive. My hands stand back for nothing and

i give 100%.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

At the moment i would just like to start working in any and every

which way i can.It will be my 'dream job' just to get a job here in

Switzerland.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field.

Well i'm very versatile in my fields, even though nothing on paper, but

i come from a very hard-working family and that was how i've been

brought up.I like that,as we all can, change the world around us just

by doing our best.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

That change can sometimes take a while.

Anything further you would like to add?

Like i said before, what i do i do to the best of my ability and is

not peticular where i start off. It's anyway not where you start but

where you end.If i can just get my foot in the door, any door,i know

i can be a positve and productive part of the business.
