What type of job are you looking for?

I am a Freelance journalist and Independent Film Maker. I am looking for any kind of job in the media sector, be it Journalism, writing, or editing.

What nationality are you?

Australian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Fluent in English, can also speak Indonesian. Have begun learning Urdu at a basic level and intend to study Arabic whilst Im in Syria.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I intend to work in Damascus, Syria, so I can further my professional career and language studies.

What countries have you worked in?

I am currently working as a freelance journalist in Pakistan, I have also worked throughout Australia and have spent a considerable amount of time in Indonesia.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

Australia.

What field do you currently work in?

Journalism, Media, and Film.

What fields have you worked in before?

Media, NGO's, Creative Arts, Management, Marketing, Hospitality

What qualifications do you hold?

Master of Media Practice, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Diploma of Website Production and Management, Certificate II Information and Technology, Certificate Microsoft Frontpage Express, Certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and Security Procedures.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

A strategic combination of both formal qualifications and life experience and skills are the most valuable combination.

Describe the benefits of working with others

when working with others it opens the door for a myriad of ideas and concepts to be worked through.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working autonimously has great benifits for a focused individual who knows how to produce high quality work under tight deadlines.

What was your worst working experience?

So far there has been no bad experience whilst working. In every scenario, whether it be positive or negative, I ensure I learn from it so I may increase my knowledge and understaning for future projects.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Focus on solutions, not problems.

What unique skills do you have?

Having studied Art, history and media, I have an increased awareness of the world around me and an acute eye for detail.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Working in the Middle East as a writer/journalist.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Meeting and talking to interesting people, hearing their stories and being a voice for the voiceless

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Journalism is always interesting.

Hi,

I just wanted to find out what's it like to be working a freelance jouno in Pkistan?? I'm a Zimbabwean journalist and thinking of going to work there for a bit. I can read, write and speak the local languages as Urdu, Punjabi. Are you based in a particular city or travel around?
