Dennis Hsieh (67.180.14.77) -

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for any job in Taiwan that is finance/accounting/sales that is very similar to what the U.S. offers.

What nationality are you?

I am born Asian-American and my parents are born in Taiwan.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak English fluently and I speak conversational Mandarin (Chinese).

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking to be around any part of Taipei. I would like to be as close to Taipei as possible, but I am willing to go to Hsinchu and as far as Taichung.

What countries have you worked in?

I have only so far worked in the U.S.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None, so far

What field do you currently work in?

I am currently in the finance field helping clients achieve their goals and dreams through retirement/financial planning.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have worked in the accounting/bookkeeping field, the property management field, and real estate lending field.

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold an accounting certificate at Santa Clara University. I am securities licensed to do investments for clients. I am also very proficient using accounting software such as Quickbooks, and office software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Powerpoint.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills are more valuable because in the real world since it really is how a person works that makes him or her more competitive than the next person. Just being book smart is not enough in this competitive job market.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I have always been a team player. I leverage each others strengths in trying to accomplish tasks for the greater good of the team. There is no company that will succeed without the best team members working together.

Describe the benefits of working alone

When you work alone you are in total control and don't have to worry about carrying the weight of other members who are lacking.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst working experience is when the other team members are not pulling equal weight. There are many times other team members will avoid communication of the problem before it's too late.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

The most important lesson learned is to work hard and trust yourself to do a good job.

What unique skills do you have?

I type about 75 wpm.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

A dream job would be to work for a growing company helping them be profitable.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspects of my field are the financial aspects of making sure companies are profitable and how to help them get there.

Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The heavy numbers involved and repetitive work with double checking to make sure each document/worksheet is audited correctly.

Please replace this with a question of your own

I would like to know what positions would be available in Taiwan that can use a finance major in the U.S. with over four plus years of work experience.

How can potential employers contact you?

Please contact me by cell phone at 1-408-242-9806. If that is too difficult please contact me by e-mail at hsiehdennis@gmail.com.
