Bangkok Bar or Hairdressing workWhat type of job are you looking for? I am a hirdresser by trade but I love working behind a bar and dancing. Social interaction is one of my strong points and whether it be styling hair or entertaining a crowd, thats what im happiest and very good at doing! What nationality are you? White British What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I am fluent in English and can speak a little Thai and French. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking for work in central Bangkok. I have family that live there so I am looking to relocate as I love Thailand. What countries have you worked in? Britain and Phuket, Thailand. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Australia and Thailand and of course the UK. What field do you currently work in? Health and Beauty What fields have you worked in before? Hospitality as a bar supervisor, a chargehand in a nightclub, an English teacher in Phuket, a lifeguard in the UK and also retail. What qualifications do you hold? TEFL grade A+ certified RLSS Pool Lifeguard Rita Rusk International Hairdressing Diploma Higher Education Modules Credit Standard Grades Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Skills. I believe you only develop a personality and a sense of who you really are if you experience life. I believe in having a story to tell and like to try my hand at whatever comes my way. Never refuse an oppertunity, otherwise how would you know? Describe the benefits of working with others Social interaction is basic human nature! It allows us to express ourselves and widen our prospectives. I love meeting new people, its compelling and interesting because everyone is different and have their different points of view and opinions. Describe the benefits of working alone We learn to problem solve and be content with who we are. It can be satisfying and gratifying to know you can work on your own. What was your worst working experience? I was in a position where I was not being challenged enough and I felt rather claustraphobic and held back. I could not understand why talent would not be nurtured so I had to move on. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? That you have to learn to roll with the punches. Stand up for what you believe in and treat others how you want and expect to be treated in return. If at first you dont succeed, try, try and try again. What unique skills do you have? I regard myself as a great motivator. I try and apply this to any challenge I have. I think having the ability to make others feel amazing is returned ten fold. There is no greater satisfaction in knowing that the work you have done has made a difference. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? One where I can express myself freely and use my natural talents to the fullest. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Being able to be creative and use my imagination! Always meeting new people and often making friends for life! Having people put their complete trust in you is a wonderful feeling. Also having the talent to know there is no limit to how far I can take it. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Anything can be boring if you choose to make it boring, so always choose to see the best in things. Do you believe you can make a difference to a workforce? Definately!
