Geriatric job HuntWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job as a Geriatric What nationality are you? I am Trinidadian What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Well i am from Trinidad and i would not mind working in the south or even central areas. What countries have you worked in? Only Trinidad as a Nurses Aide and a Threatre Nurse assistant What countries do you have a visa to work in? None What field do you currently work in? I am not working at this time , I am a student at COSTAATT doing my Bsc in Nursing. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked as a counter clerk at CHEE'S LAUNDARY and at Gulf View Medical Centre as Nurses Aide and Threatre Nurse Assistant. What qualifications do you hold? I have 4 o levels , awaiting the results of my fifth one ,I am also a licensed phlebotomist , I am also certified in the introduction to occupational safety and health ,Introduction to computers and Microsoft Excel 2003, Microsoft Windows XP proffessional and Microsoft office word 2003 Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe that they are both important in there own way, but with choice skills beats formal education because with skills one can go out on the field and perform his / her duties. Skills are what work is made up of without them then your just left with book knowledge. How can you apply book knowledge, with practical skills. People also learn better with practical skills. Describe the benefits of working with others The benefits of working with others is,you able to learn from each other , as they say two heads are better than one so if i am stumped working with others they would or could help. Team work is very much important, things run smoothly when there are extra hands involved. The next thing there is the handing over process there for the work gets done. Working with others helps you to know people, learn about there background and form relationships and friend ships in certain cases. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone is also a good thing according to where you are working and if the job does not entail other help, Normally if you work alone you are able to plan out your work and get it all done also you are more accountable if anything goes wrong, working alone gives you space and opportunites to complete given duties on time with out the stress of everyone not complying and doing and completeing his/ her tasks. What was your worst working experience? I really can't say cause i love nursing so i would never say i had bad experiences. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Be patient with people , We all have different backgrounds . What unique skills do you have? I am presently a Eurharistic Minister in the Catholic church , I like public speaking What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Registered Nursing What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Getting to help bring an infant safely into the world , and making sure all elderly are cared for with love ,respect and patients. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Getting to know a patient and also knowing he/she is going to die , is on deaths bed.
