I worked with the National Airline for 22yrs as a Senior Customer Service Representative in all areas Baggage First class lounge Counter Services and Sales I also managed a Tertiary level Student based college.. Sital I worked as a Retail Manager Nigel Khan Bookseller for the last 3yrs in all his 09 shops I also taught Adult Literacy with ALTA for 1year What qualifications do you hold? I am in posession of 5 passes at the London Olevel exams and extensive training recieved from BWIA in Customer Service Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think having the ability to function efficiently can be learnt if one has the desire and passion Formal education is sometimes not available or afforded at certain junctures in life If one has a will skills can be acquired with diligent application of the mind and the correct attitude Describe the benefits of working with others Interaction with others is desirable and absolutely important if a success is to be made from any venture The end result of building and team work can never be overlooked There is always something to learn from another person different but similiar to you because of the common cause and an open mind is required besides "MANY HANDS MAKE WORK LIGHT" Describe the benefits of working alone The onus would be on you to complete job and the required discipline would have to be applied as you would be held responsible for successful completion and you can adjust youself mentally to the task with hopefully the best results Faster sometimes if you are organized than a team when everyone is not peforming at the same level and speed What was your worst working experience? I was unable to accomodate a pregnant lady on domestic flight to Tobago because of an over-booking situation and she would have had to spend the night at the Airport as she could not afford a hotel I took her home and retuned to the Airport and assisted her the next day What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The lesson of nurturing my mind body and spirit because we are always tested and it serves you well and to always be prepared What unique skills do you have? I have a wealth of knowledge gained through my many years of interacting with people from all walks of life Humility and an ability to make others comfortable I am an extremely organized calm and amiable I am also an excellent sales person and a team-player I find it easy to communicate with both the older and young people and always manage to remain composed and calm no matter the situation What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Any job that would expand my mind and let me have the chance to laugh and have interaction with all kinds of people and at the end of the day feel that I have had some positive influence on someone What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I worked in Customer service for the greater part of my career and it will have to be the people I have met throughout this time I was able to grow spiritually intellectually and made many friends and as many acquaintances What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Persons with closed minds who did not know the difference between service and servitude What can someone do for a young person starting his first job Remember how you felt on your first day at work treat this person kindly This experience follows you throughout your working life and can be positiveand uplifting or the reverse How can potential employers contact you?
