Please, I am in need of Job

I am currently a student pursing Social Work and i would like to familiarize myself in that field, so working in Social Welfare office as receptionist or secretary would be a stepping stone for me. it would help me know more about the work world as Social Worker and also help me understand it better so, when i am finish and ready to settle in a job, i would have an idea what My job specs are and i would be ahead in practical work.

What nationality are you?

I am a Trinidadian.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak English

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I would like to find Job In Trinidad, Central or South because In Central i would be in my hometown and feel safer and South i would be against the traffic.

What countries have you worked in?

Unfortunately, only Trinidad.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None at this current time.

What field do you currently work in?

I am working as Teacher's Assistant with the On-the-Job programme,i choose this field clearly because i love children and when i do become a Social Worker i would like to work in a School or at Children' Hospital.

What fields have you worked in before?

Sales in a Family business.

What qualifications do you hold?

4 Cxc subjects B+ Basic in guidance counseling A+ Advance guidance counseling A- Introduction to Child Psychology Certificate in Social Work Currently Pursing

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I think both are most Valuable Mostly Skills. i think that Skill is most Valuable for the simple reason you have to know what your job you are doing, by knowing this you learn the skills and grow from that, you learn how to handle certain situations in your job because its is to the point and exactly what you are learning and training to do. Whereas Formal is just the Basic to having sound education, in order to move up and learn the skill.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Meet new people Learn to work as team Learn to see different backgrounds and culture. learn to take new responsibilities

Describe the benefits of working alone

You get more time to do your job efficiently. Personally i am a Team person. But, working alone can be a way for you to enhance your learning skills, due to more time and less explaining to others.

What was your worst working experience?

I learn to make everything a positive, i believe that wherever you go to work there are going to be ups and downs, you have to deal with it the mature way and move on. At the end of the day you have a job to do and yes, people are going to talk, everyone is entitle to their own opinion, but we must know when to take corrections and when to put a stop to confusion or as we say 'Bacchanal'.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I've learn that the most prestigious jobs can have their personal problems between co-workers, but i would try my best to turn that into positive. e.g if another co-worker is giving complaint about you to someone else and it reaches aback to you, don't just act up or get aggravated, get to the source and humbly ask if its true and explain that there are ways to deal with things if they are not pleased, who knows you can make a joke out of it. so, when they see you handling it this positive humane way, they would think twice before they to it to another person. that is just my way.

What unique skills do you have?

i am good at cricket, fishing

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Funny this question came up. I always wanted to be Pediatrician ALWAYS, but i am a strong believer of the saying that "everything happens for a reason" so, Social Worker can also work In hospitals with kids.that is my comfort.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Umm i would have to say the fact that issues are no longer an adult Problem, the youngest of children carry around issues and its very interesting that its increase in this time and age.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

There are no least interesting aspects. i am learning something you EVERYDAY and i hunger and thirst for that knowledge to enhance myself as potential Social Worker.

If you can describe yourself in one word what would it be?

Simple.

How can potential employers contact you?

E-mail
