Telecommunication Engineer

• Maintains system including headend signal (video, audio and data) levels as specified in system operating instructions.

• Perform quality control of all aspects of the network, from signal acquisition, signal processing and final optical distribution, which include maintaining signal properties of equipment such as TVROs, Signal Processors, Demodulators, Video Receivers, Microwave Transceivers, Modulators, tape players, video servers, laser transmitters and receivers, MTS encoders, Encryption equipment, IRTs, upconverters and UBRs.

• Conduct calibration, FCC performance tests and Emergency Alert System maintain records and documentation of all aspects of the HUB.

• Perform alterations including design changes, service additions, service changes, channel rearrangements, equipment improvements and changes including air conditioning, power conditioning, standby generators, UPS systems, antennas and satellite RX/TX stations.

• Maintenance and repair of Common carrier Microwave , which include transceiver and receiver sites, secondary power sources, antennas, towers and respective lighting as specified by FCC and FAA mandates and rulings.

• Assist in the Network Administration, which includes; administration, maintenance and use of the DAC 6000, ACC 4000, Net mentor, Seachange Ad Insertion and Pioneer EPG servers.

• Perform On-Call duties during non-business hours in the event of a Master Control outage.

• Assist in designing major extensions or modifications. Climb ladders and other structures as needed. Manipulates connectors, fasteners and wire, coax cables, fiber optic cables, waveguides and uses hand tools.

• Properly use, store and maintains test equipment which include; VOM, DMM, TDR, OTDR, laser fault locators, spectrum analyzer, waveform monitor, o-scopes, vector scopes, Optical fusion splicer, power meter, frequency counters, portable microwave receiver and computing equipment (i.e. laptops) as used in the customary operation of a CATV system.

• Perform any and all duties of a Master Control Technician, which include but are not limited to: Testing, processing, encoding and inserting video programming, maintain and repair production and studio equipment, maintain the video library, coordinate the testing and insertion of Local Origination and Public Access channels as needed.

• Properly protect and defend equipment, property and materials against loss, theft or damage. Maintain all equipment assigned in proper working order including calibration, repair, adjustment and alignment.

• Maintain security, including security and alarm systems, of facilities in accordance with policy

• Regular, punctual and consistent attendance.

University of Maryland 142 college credits completed, courses including Cisco network associate, Network +, Security+ Windows infrastructure, Business, Project Management and Windows Server 2003

United States Army completed various courses Satellite and Microwave engineering, Management LAN networks and IPv4
