| Kusadasi Living My name is Karen O'Leary, and I'll turn 21 on March 6th.From a young age I have wanted to work abroad, and when I visited Kusadasi I knew for sure. I have been there many times in the last 2 years, and came to love the area, the people and the culture. The people are so warm and friendly, and always make you feel at home. And as for the place, it feels like heaven! The weather, the history, the buzz that comes from this tourist based area. I have recently completed a 2 day holiday rep workshop, based in waterford airport. I received top marks in this. Previously I completed and graduated from a one year course in International Travel Studies, also receiving top marks, and a special award for the best sales presentation 2011. I completed my leaving certificate in 2008, in the subjects of Irish (A), English(B), Maths(B), French(B), Geography(C), Business(C) and Biology(B). For the last 4 years I have worked as a lifeguard and swim teacher in a leisure centre. I have thoroughly enjoyed this work, as it is very varied. It has given me great experience working with all types and ages of people, teaching both children and adult lessons, while also carrying out summer camps and birthday parties when required. Previous to this I worked in a shop and deli for 2 years. Although this is not what I would prefer to do as a career, it gave me great experience of working at a young age, and prepared me for life in the working world. Although I would love to put my knowledge of tourism into practice, and do a job within the industry such as repping, tour guiding or agency work, I am very keen to try something new. I feel that I am a very adaptable person and I put 100% into everything I do. At the minute, I am currently trying to learn Turkish. I have used the internet as my main research, but have taken out books from the library to use. Also my boyfriend, who is from Izmir, helps me practice when I go over to see him. I feel I am a very outgoing person, and I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. I have great drive and ambition, and find it very easy to motivate myself when I enjoy something. I am a very approachable person, have have experience with people from all walks of life, and I get on with all types of people.
