What type of job are you looking for?

As a teacher of ESL for many years, I have taught all grades. But I am not opposed to switching careers to management or the like in a business setting.

What nationality are you?

Canadian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Native speaker of English Beginner level Turkish Beginner level French Beginner level Japanese

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Izmir for 2009-2010.

What countries have you worked in?

Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Turkey, Canada.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None at the moment.

What field do you currently work in?

ESL Teacher

What fields have you worked in before?

Health insurance company in Canada

What qualifications do you hold?

BA Economics University of Alberta University of Anaheim graduate TEFL certificate student - ongoing TEFL certificate - 2

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I believe that apprenticeship or some kind of mastery training is required to achieve excellence in any field - formal and informal training and education is essential.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I receive my greatest energy working with other people in social settings.

Describe the benefits of working alone

I enjoy the attainment of goals and goal setting in many different environments.

What was your worst working experience?

One of my students threatened me in the classroom.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

If you have a purpose in working in your job, higher energy and results are obtained.

What unique skills do you have?

Investment knowledge and training, international politics and economic knowledge, religious scholarship, business knowledge and orientation, strong knowledge of cultures and societies.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Having influence and status to make wholesale policy recommendations and implementation of my ideas for a whole society or societies.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Variety and creativity and working with people.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

ESL is an underdeveloped industry with loose professional standards - look forward to improving that one day.
