University degree in Electronics Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education is an excellent base, but Skills & personality are what really builds the knowledge and gives added value to the employee Describe the benefits of working with others Currently I am managing a team of 40 IT technicians in 4 countries, the best reward of working with people is the personal relationship you build. Having a good team of people which you can trust and coach around you makes a decent job great. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone gives you the oportunity to take on any problem a project entails, being much more directly involved with the day to day issues that arise. What was your worst working experience? Not being able to finish a holiday resort building project with the installations required due to late IT involvement. This was also a great challend, build a reasonable solution with a very low budget and almos no room for infrastructure What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Not to take anything for granted, although you work with great people, the eye for detail and perfection is a must if you want to succeed What unique skills do you have? I am able to manage a team, leading by example, in a more coaching way to achieve more results than in a more traditional managers role. Outside the box thinking and people skills are other qualities. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A dream job would be in a management role with some hands on duties, leading a or several team(s) by example to obtain the results requited. Ideally in a project management, resort management or IT infrastructure development role What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The day to day challenges if IT and working with multinational and multiarcial teams. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Generally a job you can divide my current role in 60% daily general job and 40% challenging requirements.
