I currently work as a Staff Nurse in the area of orthopaedics What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in Human Resource, Accounting, and Customs and Valuation What qualifications do you hold? I have a Bachelor in Nursing, Diploma in Public Relations, Certificates in: Broadcasting and communication, Customer Service, and Computer Studies Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both are valuable; theory is vital to knowledge whilst skill is needed to complete the task. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other helps to develop rapport, learn new ideas and ways of doing tasks. Some tasks cannot be performed alone therefore team work provides cooperation Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone provides time for concentrating on the task at hand. It also reduces risk of oversight, it makes one more accountable, therefore task are done thoroughly. There is less distraction What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was when i was on a clinical rotation at a psychiatric facility and a patient tried to attack me thinking i was her husband's sweet-heart. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? A very important lesson that i have learnt is that people dont care how much you know until they know how much you care. What unique skills do you have? I am very keen-sighted. Children and i have an unspoken connection therefore i work well with them. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is one that allows room for growth and upward mobility, wherein I am able to empower others. I am allowed to work at the standard at which i am trained and i am adequately compensated. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspect of my field is actually seeing positive outcomes of my interventions. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Performing tasks that do not possess any room for growth or any great benefits to the receiver, for example woundcare to a chronic cancer patient who can only be helped with surgical intervention Would you choose a different career if given the choice?
