What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for a job as a pharmacist

What nationality are you?

I am Vincentian (St. Vincent and the Grenadines)

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak fluent English (it is my mother tongue)

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I love working in the Caribbean Islands because it will be simular to

my country but each island would provide a different work and

cultural experience.

What countries have you worked in?

Other than my home country, I had work experiences in Jamaica, United

States of America and the United Kingdom.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME)

What field do you currently work in?

Have experience in both Hospital and community pharmacies

What fields have you worked in before?

Hospital setting with experience in Hospital Management and

Supervisory Roles, Clinical Pharmacy, Antiretroviral Therapy, Medical

Store Keeping and Community Pharmacy

What qualifications do you hold?

Post Graduate Studies at Aston University, Birmingham United Kingdom

Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice.(2008-09)

Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (Hons)at University of Technology,

Jamaica West Indies.(1997-2002)

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I believe that a combination of both is essential because formal

education will enhance skills and consequently create an all rounded

individual.

Describe the benefits of working with others

A sense of re-assurance, support and team work creates a work

environment that is comfortable, effective and efficient.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone can make you more discipline, focused and help you

formulate priorities

What was your worst working experience?

My worst work experience was once being the only pharmacist on duty

and having to counsel a rape victim about taking some antiretrovirals

while having a long line of impatient patients who demanded my

attention all at once.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I have learnt never to be judgemental

What unique skills do you have?

I can communicate well with people and can additionally be very convincing

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

To be a pharmacy prescriber

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I am very interested in the clinical aspects of pharmacy and its

application in both hospital and community pharmacy settings.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Pharmacy is a dynamic profession where you are trained in diverse

areas but manufacturing, stock keeping and inventory aspects I find

less fascinating.

Why did you decide to become a pharmacist?

I love caring and helping people and the oppotunites provided in

pharmacy allows for me to do this in various ways. The diversity of

pharmacy practice makes it difficult for one to ever get bored.
