Job search

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for a job in which I can use my organisational and project management capabilities. As I have a sales/marketing background I think a job in that area would suit me very well too. I am for example thinking of companies that are already doing or thinking of setting up business relations with Europe.

What nationality are you?

Dutch

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Dutch, fluently English, very good German, very good

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking for a job in Uganda. For years I have had the desire to work abroad and when I visited to Uganda I came to like and love that country and it feels like the place for me to be.

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in the Netherlands and in Austria

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

The Netherlands

What field do you currently work in?

Sales/marketing/project management for international key accounts for a company that produces advertising materials.

What fields have you worked in before?

No other, have worked for this company since I left school almost 15 years ago.

What qualifications do you hold?

I am very strong in project management, have a marketing degree and do speak several languages. Furthermore I am a teamplayer but can function alone very well as well.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Without any doubt skills as you can have a very good formal education but still be very bad in your job, but with a bad education you can still have very good and practical skills

Describe the benefits of working with others

Being in a team can create new insights, the basics of 1+1 is 3 could very well apply in a team.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone gives you the rest to focus on your own task, to set out your own path and work accordingly.

What was your worst working experience?

I didn't have any bad working experience. I have worked for my current employer for a long time and whenever things would be difficult I could talk to my boss openly and we would find a solution for it. The worst experience now might be that I feel it is time to broaden my horizons and have come to the conclusion that within this company I do not have a further career path as the company is too small for that and I have achieved the maximum possible.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I think the most important lesson learned is personal development and self-confidence. Over the years I have done a lot of different projects with all their own approach and whatever the challenge, it can always be achieved by remaining calm and think logically.

What unique skills do you have?

I have very good organisational skills, am very accurate and can handle stress. I am always eager to learn and have a broad interest so am very easily enthusistic for a new challenge. Furthermore I am very culture-sensitive.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

The ultimate dream job would be a project management job in a development organisation as this would require the use of my skills and is a very meaningfull job. But I would consider most project management job in a professional organisation my dream job.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

It's very creative and every project is different to the previous one.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I would like to work more international. Currently the biggest part of my job is limited to the Netherlands, Germany and the UK whereas I would like to work with completely different cultures

Would you consider a job in a completely different field?

Yes, definitely. I think it would be very interesting to work in a different field and learn new things and would be very pleased if an employer would offer me that chance.

How can potential employers contact you?

Preferably by e-mail, my telephone number would be made available after a first e-mail contact (evl.atlantis@zonnet.nl)
