Primary School Volunteer TeacherEnglish speaking volunteers needed!2 positions avaliable teaching Reading, Writing, Music, Art and Sports in a small village in Uganda. Lifestyle: Bulenga is located 40 minutes by matatou (local taxi) from the city, Kampala. You will be living within the village, in the teachers compound (12 families) You might be sharing your house with another volunteer (same sex) The house has 2 single beds and a living area with 2 seats and a table. Both rooms have tables and drawers. You will collect your water from the well, a few minutes walk and cook on a charcoal stove. The teachers will help you settle into Ugandan lifestyle, a helping hand and smiling face is never far away in Bulenga! Teaching: Ages from 6 to 13 years old. 25 hours a week/4-5 hours per day. The school is very basic. Simple benches and blackboards in each classroom. Some balls, art, books.. Are avaliable but it would be best to bring with you what you think would help yourself when teaching. Contract: To start September 2011 to August 2012 (just under a year contract) |
