Thinking of emmigrating to UruguayWhat type of job are you looking for? I am currently the owner of a lingerie boutique in the UK. I have had substantial retail experience and would love to stay in that field. However, I have really developed my people skills and would be happy in any occupation where I could put those to good use. I have IT and admin skills also. What nationality are you? I am British What languages do you speak (and at what level)? French - conversational German - moderate Arabic - moderate understanding What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am currently looking for work in Uruguay and Argentina as my boyfriend and I have fallen in love with those areas and would love to emmigrate. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in the UK and Dubai, UAE. What field do you currently work in? I am currently in retail. What fields have you worked in before? Admin, sales and make-up artistry. What qualifications do you hold? I have a BA Hons in Film and Television. A-levels GCSE's Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Actually, right now, with the current economic crisis, I think skills are an amazing asset to have. People with a trade can seem to find work pretty much anywhere. No matter how tough the climate, houses are always being built. Describe the benefits of working with others I really bounce off people and I like feeling part of a team. you can objectively discuss ideas, keep morale up and I think you learn a lot from people on a day to day basis. Whether it's work-related or more about their upbringing/culture. Describe the benefits of working alone Having my own business, there have been lots of times where I've worked alone. I like making my own decisions and reaping the benefits when they come good. I like being in control of a situation and learning as much as I can about the un-known. What was your worst working experience? I once worked for a company in their sales team and didn't much enjoy it. Mainly because the company was badly organised and they didn't drive their work force with incentives. A badly managed team just isn't productive. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Be open to learn. If you think you know everything, you'll fail in the end. What unique skills do you have? I can perform bra fittings purely by eyesight (no tape measures) What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be creative. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I deal with a lot of women on a daily basis. As a lingerie boutique, we pride ourselves on our customer service and making women feel completely looked after. I find dealing with our customers the most interesting and the most challenging. You develop a rapport that makes you 1/2 bra fitter, 1/2 councellor. You have to be so understanding and sensitive to every situation. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Every aspect is interesting because I get to learn about accounting, admin, staff training, hiring new people, website programming. If I had to pick my least favourite, it's probably sifting through the amount of junk mail I get in my inbox. What makes you good at what you do? Because I'm extremely good at adapting to every situation. I can relate to any customer who walks in through the door and I can bend my personality to any age or background to make people feel comfortable. How can potential employers contact you?
