Describe the benefits of working with others Ideas are constantly exchanged, new friendships develop, you realize your inter-dependance from others. As a team, problems are solved quicker. You get to know and understand people, their likes and dislikes. Describe the benefits of working alone You can work undesturbed, even for long hours without bothering others. Sometimes you need time alone to bring out the best in you. Sometimes, while working alone, you have to deliver in a certain time frame (which puts pressure on you, but also allows you to prove yourself as an individual). What was your worst working experience? When I had to deliver 5 substation battery chargers and could not finish them exactly on time! (Fortunately, a later delivery date was negotiated). See, I had to quote, then develop the design, build it to spec and deliver it to a customer that had no idea that this was actually the prototype!(All single handed, but it was a great success!) What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be to coach a team of candidates from entry level right into advanced level of trade skills and knowledge and work closely with them even afterwards as a mentor in their daily work environments. Here I am talking specifically about the trade Electricians, with some training also in the industrial electronics field, seeing that no electrician nowadays, can work without a little knowledge of electronics and how it is applied in industry. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The reaction(s) of a student when he/she grasps a concept to such an extent, that he/she overflows with joy when he/she achieves a success in the skills of designing and wiring something that actually works! What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Nitty-gritty, non-relevant meetings! Would you consider working in other parts of the world? Yes, it all depends on the offer and if it is a permanent position where my spouse and I can settle How can potential employers contact you? I may be contacted via e-mail: techno.temp@gmail.com Also on my cellular phone: +27(0)72-592-3485, i.e. +2772-592-3485 from outside of South Africa or 072-592-3485 from inside of South Africa |
