Samoan is my mother tongue so I speak it fluently, I also speak Tokelauan, and quiet fluently at that too..English as my second language, I speak and understand it very well. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am interested in learning new cultures and adapting to new environments, and of course looking for new challenges in nursing carreer, therefore would love to look for any job opportunity in another Pacific Island country What countries have you worked in? Public Health looking after health programs and Clinical side looking after Ante natal mothers from prenatal to postnatal What fields have you worked in before? Nursing / Midwifery fields What qualifications do you hold? A Diploma in General Nursing and a PostGraduate Diploma in Midwifery Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I would say both..we all need formal education to know what we're doing and what rationals there are behind every care we provide and every action we take..in having all these then we can acquire the different skills that is needed to further and improve the work we do Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others enables the individuals to learn from each other, and support each other. When the tasks are too much then others can share the workload and be able to finish it together Describe the benefits of working alone Working on your own enables to develop your own skills and be able to stand alone on planning and implementing your own ideas and be able to understand your own work What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience would be when I was left with a junior nurse alone on an outer health facility where there was no water and no electricity, and we had to walk to a well to get water for shower. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Learning to humble myself and be able to put myself in a patient shoe and feel how they feel. Working and taking others advise on how to become a better nurse What unique skills do you have? I guess everyone is unique in their own ways, I think I'm unique in the way I interact with patients especially pregnant mothers during their pregnancy, I also value my times with the youths in terms of counselling, which is another unique skill that I know I have What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Dream job!!!!!I don't dream of anything else but to be a better nurse and a loving midwife What are the most interesting aspects of your field? We get to interact with patients, we get to share lots of feelings and emotions together, and able to get messages through to them on how to be healthy and how to live healthy lives What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
