Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others has the advantage of team working, which helps to motivate and inspire people. This will in turn, help to promote new and fresh ideas. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone can be very beneficial if you are in a situation that the task is very complex and the need for the up most of concentration is required to find a solution or complete it. What was your worst working experience? In a previous role I was given the task to survey and submit a comprehensive report for the underside of a large highway bridge that formed part of a key route in the South West of the Uk. In order to carry out the survey it was decided that the easiest solution was to carry out the survey simultaneously with another operation, which was to load test the Maintenance Gantries, Runway Beams to gain optimum access to all key areas of concern. To carry out the task, which took several months to complete, I accompanied a rope access team in a specially adapted, gantry. The gantry which had a hand chain driven bogie either end, had very limited space and only had a load capacity to carry a maximum of five people at anyone time. At the highest point of the bridge structure we were suspended 80 meters from the ground and the gantry would sway in the quite often windy conditions. However, if that wasn’t bad enough, there was worst to come - Not realising before I embarked on the mission, the rope access team played a singing game that was played every day for the duration of the job. The game involved going through the English alphabet and they took it turns to recite a song beginning with that letter, starting at A. This singing game went on from the time I embarked on the gantry in the morning and continued for the remainder of the day. This would have been okay, but no one from the crew could sing in tune!!
